At Save Girls on F.Y.E.R., we believe that leadership takes many forms. That’s why our Leadership Academy Focus Tracks offer specialized learning experiences designed to develop confidence, creativity, and career readiness for Black and Brown girls ages 11-19. Each track provides hands-on learning, mentorship, and immersive opportunities to build real-world skills that prepare our girls for success in school, work, and life.
Through the Theater Arts, Environmental Research, and Esports Tracks, girls will explore storytelling for social change, environmental advocacy, and the gaming industry, developing both technical expertise and leadership abilities. Each focus track follows a structured schedule, including weekly sessions, an intensive week, and transformative field trips—all crafted to inspire and equip Leadership Academy girls with the tools they need to lead.

THEATER ARTS TRACK
At Save Girls on F.Y.E.R., we believe theater is a powerful tool for connection, change, justice, and healing. The Theater Arts Track allows girls to blend the leadership skills they develop in the Academy with creative self-expression. Through the lens of hope, health, and climate justice, participants will explore the world of acting and theater production, using storytelling to shed light on critical issues impacting our communities.
Over six months, girls will engage in mindfulness and reflection exercises, theater games, vocal training, and stage acting. They’ll also write and produce an original theater piece while gaining hands-on experience in set design, backstage roles, and directing. This immersive experience will culminate in a live performance on a professional stage, addressing the real-world impact of water pollution on health.

THEATER ARTS SCHEDULE

ENVIRONMENTAL RESEARCH TRACK
The Environmental Research Track at SGOF equips girls with the knowledge, skills, and leadership needed to advocate for environmental and mental health improvements in their communities. Through hands-on research, field studies, and mentorship, participants will explore how environmental issues—especially those affecting communities of color—impact daily life.
Girls will gain real-world environmental science experience, including data collection and analysis, while learning how to use tools like the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Environmental Justice Screen to assess environmental health disparities. With visits to a university lab, water reservoirs, and a wastewater treatment plant, this track will provide a deep dive into the science of water quality, pollution, and sustainable solutions.

ESPORTS TRACK
The Esports Track at SGOF introduces girls to the fast-growing world of competitive gaming and careers in the esports industry. Through hands-on training, mentorship, and interactive workshops, participants will explore how digital gaming, streaming, and leadership intersect to create new pathways for confidence, creativity, and community.
Girls will gain real-world experience in esports club development, streaming platforms, branding, and tournament management. They’ll also learn how to build engaging content, lead teams, and explore scholarship and career opportunities in gaming and tech—preparing them to thrive in a rapidly growing industry.
